March School Board

Hello friends,

This past month was a meaningful one around our schools and our community. I attended the March School Board meeting and had the chance to see firsthand the incredible things happening across Collier County Public Schools. Moments like these are a reminder of why Collier continues to be an A-rated district and why protecting what works while building on our success matters so much.

As someone who grew up here and graduated from our schools, these meetings are more than policy discussions to me. They are a look into the future of our community.

Honoring Excellence in Immokalee

One of the highlights of the meeting was recognizing the Immokalee High School Flag Football Team, who were honored as State Champions.

Their accomplishment is a testament to the hard work of the students, coaches, and families who support them. Watching these young athletes celebrate was a powerful reminder that our schools are about more than academics. They are about teamwork, leadership, and pride in our community.

These students represent the very best of Collier County.

A Strong Partnership for Safe Schools

School safety remains one of the most important responsibilities of the school district, and I had the opportunity to connect with Sheriff Kevin Rambosk during the meeting.

Collier County is fortunate to have a strong partnership between our schools and local law enforcement. These relationships help ensure our campuses remain safe, supportive places where students can focus on learning and growing.

A Full Circle Moment at Tommie Barfield

This week I also attended Tommie Barfield Leadership Day, and it was a particularly special experience for me.

Tommie Barfield Elementary is where I went to school as a child. Walking those halls again and seeing the next generation of students learning and leading was a full circle moment.

Our schools shape who we become, and it reminded me why serving our community and protecting the strength of our schools matters so much.

Protecting What Works in Collier Schools

Collier County Public Schools are successful because of the teamwork between teachers, families, students, and community leaders. My goal is to protect that success and build on it so every student continues to thrive.

I believe in

• Strong Foundations

• Local Control

• Innovation for Tomorrow

These values guide my commitment to putting students first, supporting teachers, and making sure families always have a voice in our schools.
